Vinyl pools are a very popular option because they are economical. They are constructed from a vinyl liner that fits tightly around the pool’s surface and seals around it. Vinyl is cheaper than fiberglass and flexible than concrete.
Gelcoat pool coatings are applied in factories so they can't be replicated at home. Instead, there are replacement coatings--thermoplastic polymers that are used to resurface fiberglass. Before the new coat can be applied, the pool must have been completely drained.
The plaster must be in a good state before you can paint a pool. Pros recommend that plaster surfaces be prepared using a wash of muriatic and then rinsed with TSP (trisodiumphosphate). (Note: Use muriatic or TSP with extreme caution and always read the instructions. The old paint should be compatible. Rubberized latex paint doesn't stick well to epoxy, and vice-versa.
